Our latest creation, BanTOR III, is one powerful machine. The telescoping climber never failed to raise this beautiful bot. This robot also featured an unstoppable 6 Neo west coast drivetrain, that quickly zipped this little machine across the field. BanTOR III utilized a 5 ball autonomous mode to rank 3rd at the 2020 Los Angeles Regional and went all the way to the finals with teams 5124 and 2576. Unfortunately, this robot never got to compete at Champs (Thanks COVID, love you), however we did take our first-ever Chairman's Award at the cancelled Sacramento Regional.

This robot brought a new innovation to the TorBots. It was our first and only robot to use Mecanum drive. This drive train utilizes special wheels that, when rotated a certain way, allow the robot to move from side to side. Unfortunately, it also has quite a few disadvantages, mainly being that it requires a lot of adjustments to work properly so it would be the last time we used a Mecanum drivetrain.
