Our latest creation, BanTOR III, is one powerful machine. The telescoping climber never failed to raise this beautiful bot. This robot also featured an unstoppable 6 Neo west coast drivetrain, that quickly zipped this little machine across the field. BanTOR III utilized a 5 ball autonomous mode to rank 3rd at the 2020 Los Angeles Regional and went all the way to the finals with teams 5124 and 2576. Unfortunately, this robot never got to compete at Champs (Thanks COVID, love you), however we did take our first-ever Chairman's Award at the cancelled Sacramento Regional.

At the 2018 FIRST World Championship, TorBots was selected as a FedEx Innovation Challenge winner. With our award, we purchased a CNC machine to machine parts that require precision. Members of our team learned Mastercam, computer-aided machining software, and we have since been able to provide CNC support and assistance to several teams in the greater Los Angeles area.
“TorBots is really important because it provides the opportunity for hands-on learning. What really drives students to learn is when they have a new machine they don’t know how to use like the CNC machine. They spend hundreds of hours researching and then not only can they use the machine, but then they can make more complex parts for other local teams as a way of giving back.”
