Our latest creation, BanTOR III, is one powerful machine. The telescoping climber never failed to raise this beautiful bot. This robot also featured an unstoppable 6 Neo west coast drivetrain, that quickly zipped this little machine across the field. BanTOR III utilized a 5 ball autonomous mode to rank 3rd at the 2020 Los Angeles Regional and went all the way to the finals with teams 5124 and 2576. Unfortunately, this robot never got to compete at Champs (Thanks COVID, love you), however we did take our first-ever Chairman's Award at the cancelled Sacramento Regional.

TorBlocks
The TorBots are currently recruiting new members for TorBlocks, our FIRST Lego League Team!
We are open to all middle school students within Torrance Unified School District.
Students will learn to design, build, and code a robot in 9 weeks, and will participate in local competitions. Students are also challenged to develop an innovative idea for the Innovation Project.
Students are given guidance from members of the TorBots at South High, and TorBlocks serves as a gateway to FRC, a more advanced program in high school.
For any questions,
please contact Mr. Rosenberg at rosenberg.michael@tusd.org
One of the TorBots' most important contributions has been to support FIRST Lego League teams in the Torrance community to promote STEM education in middle schools. For the past five years, TorBots has provided mentoring and support to the Widgets, five FLL teams at Richardson Middle School.
Many TorBots are former FLL members and return to support middle school students as mentors. Our team hosted a practice FLL tournament for our greater South Bay region, giving teams the opportunity to receive constructive feedback on their performance in a low-stress environment prior to the official competition. TorBots facilitated the event, serving as coaches, emcees, querers, runners, referees, field resetters and scorekeepers.
Our team also enjoys hosting the Widgets at our shop to observe our team’s progress throughout “build season” and encourage their continued involvement in FIRST.
